I'm running Windows 8.1 and a fresh install of Fallout New Vegas with no mods so far.
For the Most part I look up armor mods and dl them but just keep the meshes and textures and plug them into my existing big armor mod that puts everything in the world in the different leveled lists.I've stumbled upon a weird issue that I haven't encountered or read about before. I made all the rugged clothes from spice of life have 5 variants of different colors. I even make my own retextures and combinations. Your best bet is to learn a bit of the basics of the Geck, nikskope, and fnvedit and combine all the armor mods you can find and put them in the leveled lists. I used some good type 3 female armors to use as the female versions of each armor and then distriubuted it across the wasteland. The willhaven mod had great armors for men real postapocalyptic look stuff. It also includes a rifle sling and a pistol holster you can wear while you use another weapon so you can see it on your body. Satchels has a couple great simple armors and couriers cache has great armor and weapons.
